Each year on June 8th, we come together to celebrate World Ocean Day, a global movement that highlights the critical role our oceans play in sustaining life on Earth. More than 70% of our planet is covered by oceans they regulate our climate, feed billions, support a vast array of wildlife, and connect communities across the globe.
Why the Ocean Matters
The ocean is far more than just a beautiful natural wonder. It:
Regulates climate by absorbing heat and carbon dioxide
Provides food and livelihoods for over 3 billion people
Houses over 230,000 known species — and many more yet to be discovered
Generates over 50% of the oxygen we breathe
Despite its importance, our ocean is under threat from pollution, overfishing, and climate change.
Our Responsibility
This World Ocean Day, we invite you to pause and reflect: What can we do to protect our ocean for future generations?
Reduce single-use plastics
Support sustainable seafood choices
Advocate for ocean-friendly policies
Participate in beach clean-ups and marine conservation initiatives
