Our World Cleanup Day at Flat Rock Park Recap, A powerful day of action, discovery, and community spirit

World Cleanup Day may have passed, but the impact of that day still lingers and we’re excited to share our story as this year, We Save The World proudly supported the county-wide cleanup efforts at Flat Rock Park, organized by Russian River Keeper. With about 10 dedicated volunteers of all ages, we rolled up our sleeves and went to work and together, we managed to collect an incredible 240 pounds of trash!

But the day was not just about collecting waste it was about connection, learning, and even a bit of adventure. One of our youngest volunteers made an unexpected discovery: a nearly brand-new scooter. The excitement on their face reminded us that these cleanups are about more than just trash removal they are about giving back to nature, finding joy, and uncovering hidden treasures.

Another surprising find was a soccer ball, a fun reminder of what gets left behind when we take our parks for granted. The energy and passion of everyone who joined us made this event a success. Each piece of trash picked up was a small victory for the environment and for the community that calls Flat Rock Park home.

Though the day is over, the mission continues. Together, we are proving that when we take action, even small teams can create big change.
